Hi There,
My name is Rebecca Emily, and thank you for taking a moment to explore my website and art. I'm currently located in Eugene, Oregon, but travel all throughout the Pacific Northwest for clients and creative projects. I started my business in 2020, but have been shooting digitally since 2016. I specialize in editorial photography and bring this aspect to all forms of my portrait and commercial work.
Although I've spent most of my life here in the Willamette Valley, I like to think that my years growing up in Arizona have made me more appreciative and observant of the beauty that Oregon has to offer. Incorporating nature into my shoots has always been an important aspect to my work. Additionally, I would describe my work as spacious, feminine, and honest.
I often get asked why I pursued photography, and my usual response is a ramble about always having had a camera around as a child and deciding to take it more seriously later in my twenties. However, the real answer is rather cliche. I believe photography allows us to speak where words fail. It is a fascinating and visceral way to learn about the world around us as it lets us step into another's reality or dreams, past or present. Both creating and observing it fulfills my desire to learn, explore, find community, and share through pictures what can be felt, but not always described.
As for my day-to-day life outside of photography, it consists of flower arranging, salsa dancing, perfume collecting, foodie trips with friends, late night talks with my partner, and cuddling my lovely cat, Charlie.
